As leading specialists in the design and construction of world class winery facilities throughout New Zealand and Canada, the Apollo Projects team have an in-depth knowledge of wine production processes, and the wine industry as a whole.
Along with extensive experience and expertise, Apollo are not afraid to challenge the status quo in order to come up with innovative solutions and gain maximum value and quality for our clients throughout the Design & Build process.
A fantastic example of the Apollo team utilising their familiarity with the industry to create leading edge design is the new Babich winery facility currently under construction south of Blenheim, due to be completed in December 2013.
Aware that energy costs are one of the major expenses of wine production, Apollo took a collaborative approach, with input from both the Babich winery team and trusted expert consultants, to develop and incorporate a number of innovative and energy-efficient features into the design. These include:
- A fully insulated tank area and hot and cold glycol system
- A passive wine cooling system
- A heat recycling system utilising waste heat from the refrigeration system
- A colour scheme in keeping with the surrounding natural environment
These features will not only reduce the environmental impact of the development, but increase energy efficiency for Babich Wines – just one example of the way in which Apollo’s comprehensive Design & Build process maximises value and efficiency for our clients, without compromising on quality.
