When Craig Waghorn and Paul Lloyd started Apollo Projects in 2001, the first thing they said was ‘We’re going to have fun’. Having had their own fair share of uninspiring work experiences, Craig and Paul were determined to make Apollo different.

The key to Apollo’s success is our people. We employ on personality and experience, and train the skills. We put a lot of effort into finding the right people, and making sure they fit our culture. We look for prospective employees who are motivated, loyal, trustworthy, proactive – and most importantly, can laugh at themselves.
By having the right people with the right attitude, we have a business that is incredibly strong. Our company culture is entirely unique and full of laughter and fun, both in and out of the workplace.

In all our dealings with Apollo they always acted with the upmost integrity and professionalism. From taking the project brief to consultation with all key stakeholders within our organisation Apollo certainly played a significant role in ensuring that the project was a complete success from every angle.
The design team Apollo assembled was first rate and contributed significantly to what has proven to be a first class facility. Apollo’s performance in managing this design process was also to a very high standard. Apollo certainly excels in the incorporation of buildability and construction input into the design process. This ensured that the majority of the design issues were clarified prior to the construction phase on site.
Apollo Projects were the most outstanding company to deal with. From the initial discussion to the completion of the project they were amazingly professional, very open, transparent and honest and prepared to go the extra yard to make sure all parties were fully informed. Not only that, we were finished a month early and under budget…
The professionalism that Apollo have shown throughout the Edendale Redline upgrade is to be commended. Their attention to detail ensured that the quality of workmanship from all trade staff involved met the food safety standards required as well as stepwise innovative improvement which met Fonterra’s strategy to be “The World’s most trusted source of dairy nutrition.” This project had a challenging time constraint window which Apollo managed extremely well, and now the site has one of the best redlines in the country.
This project has been completed in about a third of the time it normally takes to design, plan and build a major police station. It’s been an outstanding effort from everyone involved. This is a very different environment from the premises we’ve occupied in the past. It’s modern, spacious and high-tech – and having so many of our staff on one site is encouraging us all to work more collaboratively.
