Apollo Projects were engaged to Design and Construct the new Babich Wines Marlborough facility, and we’re thrilled to see this state of the art project featured in Wine Marlborough’s June issue of Winepress Magazine!

One of the most significant winery builds in New Zealand in recent years, this stunning new facility was completed in December 2013, and processesd its first Vintage this year – a bumper harvest and a challenging test of the facility’s capabilities which it passed with flying colours according to the Babich team!
As the Winepress article outlines, the winery was originally consented for 6000 tonne and designed as a 3000 tonne facility, but had to rapidly undergo expansion as it became evident that the harvest was going to be big – Stage 2 construction was consequently brought forward from mid-May to commence mid-Vintage. As experts in the wine sector, Apollo was instrumental in not only designing and building the stunning facility itself, but integrating and coordinating this expansion – allowing the winery to process 4820 tonnes of fruit this year.
Combining the Babich family’s legacy and experience with Apollo’s specialist expertise, this facility is undoubtedly world class. As Winepress states, this build is a sign of Babich’s commitment to Marlborough – a region where Apollo has played an integral part in the development of the wine industry.
