Apollo Projects has been awarded the build for the new UHT expansion project currently underway at Meadowfresh’s Christchurch facility. Apollo’s early contractor involvement was negotiated based on our dairy expertise and ability to contribute to the design through both a practical and theoretical appreciation of total project delivery.
The expansion will add two more production lines to the existing facility, including a new sterilisation room and filling room, as well as packing area and staff amenities. Total build area is 2692m2.
As the Main Contractor Apollo will be managing a number of Design/Build elements of the project, including process services, electrical and mechanical engineering and HVAC.
This complex project will present a number of challenges as it requires the integration of the new facility into the existing plant, which will continue production throughout the construction period; as well as the spatial constraints caused by infrastructure surrounding the site.
The Apollo team’s specialist expertise in the design and construction of dairy related process facilities, as well as a comprehensive understanding of the practicalities of integrating the services and specialist plant into the building system and coordination into the construction sequence will be crucial in overcoming these challenges and delivering an industry-leading facility for Goodman Fielder.
