OUR PEOPLE
Teamwork, fun, attitude and individual ability are central both to our day to day work, and to the success of Apollo. We're pleased to have brought together people who enjoy each other's company while continuously challenging and motivating each other. That spirit is evident in everything we do and in our shared enjoyment of leisure activities and the outdoors.
OUR COMMUNITY
We are proud of our commitment to local communities and our long standing relationships with the Rotary and Lions clubs as well as the Radio Network Special Kids Christmas Party.
In addition in 2006, Apollo raised over $40,000 through a charity dinner for the Canterbury Charity Hospital Trust which provides free healthcare to those who desperately need it. This was a fantastic achievement and was possible due to the excellent support provided by a number of Apollo’s clients, suppliers and contractors.
Apollo also supports talented individuals like Cambridge based rower Lucy Strack and Christchurch swimmer Natasha Lloyd.
Lucy is pursuing her dream of competing at the 2012 Olympics and is training for the World U23 in Belarus in July. Next is trialing for the world champs being held at Lake Karapiro in November this year. Intense training sessions 16 times a week requires a fulltime commitment from Lucy meaning she relies on the support of her family and sponsorship.
Natasha not only represented Canterbury in under 15’s netball but is one of the youngest ever New Zealanders to win a national swimming title.
Swimming competitively for the last 6 years, 14 year old Natasha has an impressive list of achievements to date;
- Representing NZ at the Pacific School Games in Canberra
- 7 gold medals at the recent NZ age group champs
- Member of the NZ high performance training camps
- Numerous Canterbury and NZ age group records.
- Three golds (two in relays), one silver and a bronze at the recent NZ Open swimming championships including winning the 200 Breaststroke Open Woman’s in a new age group record time.
Natasha and Lucy work tirelessly to achieve their goals - their attitudes and unwavering committment to realising their dreams is incredibly admirable. You can find updates on Lucy and Natasha’s successes in our News section.
