2011 has been a tough year for swimming in Canterbury. The Christchurch earthquakes have left the city's sporting infrastructure in tatters.

Particularly with the loss of QEII stadium and with it the only 50 metre swimming pool in the region.

Now, Apollo CEO Paul Lloyd had designed a highly cost effective solution to the matter.
